Schofield PTO

We will be gearing up for the Cradles to Crayons Donation Drive (11/1-11/6/10).  Once again, Schofield will be collecting donations for the Cradles to Crayons Wellesley Drive.  Bins will be provided at the school for drop off during the week of November 1 leading up to the donation sorting day at Babson on Saturday, November 6 (great opportunity to volunteer with your kids).  The drive will be focused primarily on slightly used winter clothes and supplies for kids 0-14.  Also, Babson now has a storage truck permanently located behind the Reynolds Conference Center for drop offs between now and the drive in November. 
Founded in 2002, Cradles to Crayons (C2C) is an innovative Quincy-based nonprofit organization that equips homeless and in-need children with the basic essentials they need to feel safe, warm, ready to learn and valued. While meeting the immediate needs of low-income children, C2C also sets a foundation for lasting change by providing meaningful, tangible volunteer opportunities to thousands of individuals and hundreds of organizations each year.
How does it work? C2C partners with social-service organizations in the Boston area to connect communities that have surplus resources—new or gently used items in good condition—with communities that desperately need access to those resources. The essentials we collect and distribute include clothing, shoes, school supplies, and much more. When you donate to Cradles to Crayons, you can be absolutely sure that your donation will go to a deserving local child, for whom the donation was specifically requested.
