Important Reminders and Changes in Procedures:

As the weather is so unpredictable (it could be pouring rain at 7:00 and cleared up by 8:00) we will NOT be sending out emails announcing weather arrival.

Indoor Arrival- Side Door Entrance

-For mornings when children cannot stay outside for an extended period of time (rain/snow/ice/extreme cold)

-Children are dropped off at the regular location, the pavement by the playground, and proceed directly into school through the side entrance

-There is a sign in the side door window notifying children of the indoor arrival

Weather Arrival-  Main Entrance

-Notified by orange flags in the traffic cones lining the school driveway

-Children are dropped off at the school’s main entrance and enter into the building through this door

-This type of arrival is rare and only used for extremely poor condition (ex: downpours)

Please remember that school staff begin morning supervision at 8:15am.  Children should not be dropped off to the playground area before that time.

Change of Dismissal: It is always best for students to know what the afternoon dismissal plan is when they leave home each day. Changes require classroom interruptions and take office staff away from other important tasks. We need your help in sticking to the dismissal plan. If you are unsure or need to change the original plan, please contact the office by 12 noon. You can also email ssdismiss@gmail.com.

Early Pick Up: Many times parents need to pick up children to go to medical appointments. All students leaving early need to be signed out by an adult. Please come to the main office a few minutes before pick up to allow us time to call the classroom for your child. Please don't forget to send a YELLOW change of dismissal note with your child in the morning so that the teacher knows about the early pick up.
